The Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Conference Center project, completed in 2003, involved the renovation of unused laboratory and storage space in a WWII-era building into a state-of-the-art tele-conferencing center for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The program involved renovation of existing restrooms, upgrade of the lobby, creation of a display room to highlight AFRL’s work products, and a VIP meeting room with full tele-conferencing capability. HDC upgraded the existing HVAC system, installed new lighting systems and electrical hookups for AV equipment, and specified all furnishings. This project won a 2003 Design Citation Award from both the Air Force Materiel Command Civil Engineer and from the U.S. Air Force.
