HDC historians are able to conduct efficient historic building surveys anywhere in the United States. HDC staff visually examine and record the location, condition, and architectural character of all buildings within a project area. The style and materials of each building or structure are analyzed for age, craftsmanship, and architectural style, and this information is used to supplement data taken from early maps and local histories as part of standard literature reviews and research.
