Hardlines Design Company (HDC) performed a historic house preservation project that involved the total renovation of an existing 1830s farmhouse and the construction of a new two-story addition to the rear. It is located in the historic Town of Worthington, Ohio. The 1,000 s.f. two-story addition featured a Family Room with a half-bath laundry and mudroom on the first floor, with a Master Bedroom, Master Bath and walk-in closet on the second. The project also included three new porches and a brick patio in the rear. The renovation consisted of a completely new kitchen, new windows, new exterior siding and a new electrical system. HDC worked closely to integrate period details such as a Rumford fireplace, tongue-and-groove porch ceiling, and custom interior moldings to match the original. This project received Best of Show and Best Design in the 2000 Showcase of Remodeled Homes and an Olde Worthington Merit Award.
